First, I saw my first mouse outside of the office. It needed to be captured on film - they are in the tubes!
Then it was off to Twickenham, the spiritual home of Rugby. The perks of the hospitality tent include pre-game speeches from 2 of the players that will play (which I think is what is pictured above).
Then, it's two former players who give analysis whilst you have a full 3 course meal...
Then, they hand out tickets and during the game snacks for your purse.
And just to make you feel even more like you are in a fairy tale, the Royal Family's helicopter makes an appearance. The much-loved Princess Anne delivered to the stadium just outside the tent.
Then it's off to the game, which was incredible. I couldn't believe the seats and the excitement in the stadium. England was in the running for the title and needed to score as many points as possible before the last game in the next week. Everyone was definitely excited and the Scots were funny to hear as well. Lots of singing and cheering.
Fireworks pre-game as the teams came on the field.
Then it was time to sing God Save the Queen...chills every time.
Then the game started! England won...there were a lot of trys and action throughout. Much better game than England vs. Argentina. England didn't end up scoring enough to win the tournament in the end, but they were so close this year!
Royal standard was flying showing Princess Anne being there...she also presented the trophy at the end of the game.
Then it was back to the hospitality tent, where former players gave us a break down...pictured above is Rory Underwood. During the meal before the game, he was taking pictures with the tables. I had no clue why everyone was excited to get a picture taken with him. I said a bit too loud that I wasn't sure who he was, which meant one of my co-workers got me to say hello to him. I just introduced myself like I would with anyone...he was a bit taken aback. I guess he's kinda a big deal...and didn't think I was! Oh well, he was very nice about it.
I took the train back to Hammersmith and dreamt of rugby and princesses...perfect day!
