Yesterday ended in the most unusual way. After dinner to celebrate all 100 birthdays, mothers days, anniversaries, etc that happen in April and May for my family, I drove us back to my flat without the use of Faith. Impressed? I thought so!
Just before my place, I came across a road block where the police were stopping everyone. Have you ever used a breathalyzer before? No? Me neither. First time for everything. I rolled down my window and the officer stuck the machine in my face and told me to blow. At 8pm on a thursday with what are clearly my parents in the car (both asleep) and a&a in the car, both asleep. It was a jolt to them when they woke up to me blowing on a machine. I failed the first time. Not due to alcohol, but due to the fact that you have to blow a really long time before its done. I don't have that much hot air!! (don't respond to that). After a lesson from the kind officer, I got it right the 2nd time. Phew!! I have no interest in learning about the Dutch legal system first hand!
