#photobombwithtorpedoinventor - my photography skills are not great.  Inadvertent photo bomb of the guide in front of the statue honoring the Swedish American who invented the torpedo and designed ships that fought in the war of independence (uss monitor)

#swedishhero - monument to swedish family that saved thousands of Jews in ww2 despite Sweden being officially neutral.  He created thousands of falsified passports to smuggle people out of Denmark and Norway, amongst other countries, making him a very popular figure in Sweden.

#missionimpossible - statue of swedish king who first defended his nation against attack at 15 and then later decided invasion of Russia was the next best move.  It didn't end well.

#imonaboat - I just wanted to use that #.  Boat ride to the Vasa museum

#17thcenturyboat - the vasa museum houses the only preserved 17th century war ship.  The ship sunk on its maiden voyage (30 minutes in) due to poor design (#oops).  Designers were Dutch....they didn't think through a number of things, including the height of the ship and the rocks used to stabilize the ship.  Took 50 lives to the bottom of the baltic and was only recently (1960s) brought up from the floor of the ocean, in near perfect condition.  Very cool.  Supposedly the model for the black pearl in the pirates movies

#dancingqueen - abba museum was up next.  What a light, fun place to enjoy.  Definitely would see that again...came in skeptical, left dancing.

 

#absoluticebar - girls night at an ice bar - everything was made of ice.  Very cool, pun intended!
